Supercomputer fixes virtual 3D classrooms

In New Mexico will be able to train medical students at a distance in virtual 3D environments, through a network connected to a central supercomputer.

A purpose-built network to cover all higher education institutions in New Mexico, which will enhance experiential learning at a distance, thanks to three-dimensional virtual classrooms.

The system consists of 33 pieces of access points that connect academic institutions to Encanto supercomputer, located at Intel in Rio Rancho. Along with high definition video conferencing equipment is also used 3D glasses to give a better presence experience.

The technology will be used in different ways at different institutions. The University of New Mexico is the example of medical education.
