39 times more mobile data traffic in five years

Cisco's annual traffic forecasts show a big boost up for mobile data traffic over the next five years.
Visual Networking Index is a forecast that Cisco makes each year over the development of traffic in the networks. This year's edition shows clearly what the future lies, not surprisingly deals with mobile data traffic.

An average mobile internet is said to generate around 1.3 gigabytes of traffic per month, but the five years that figure will be around seven gigabytes, says the report.

The current situation is increasing the mobile data traffic is 2.4 times faster than fixed broadband and is currently at about 90 petabyte per month globally. About five years, 2014, Cisco estimates that the total traffic volume will be 39 times as high as today.
